Weekend Love Forecast – Full Moon In Cancer

full moon desertFriday night, the effulgent Cancer Moon moves into opposition with the Venus-Sun-Mars conjunction in Capricorn, heading into the exact full moon in the wee hours of Saturday. Capricorn ruler Saturn in Pisces conjoins Neptune and sextiles retro Uranus in Venus-ruled Taurus, and the Moon shares Cancer with booming Jupiter. Jupiter squares retro Chiron in Aries.

The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Chiron are all in cardinal signs, in stress aspects (even when it’s good stress, and yes, there’s good stress). Saturn and Neptune are in mutable Pisces, and Uranus is in fixed Taurus, in an aspect of opportunity. What they all have in common is flux and CHANGE.

Venus and Mars flanking the Sun and opposing the Moon sweeten the situation and provide traction, value, and teeth. Jupiter and Chiron provide a platform for intensifying and amplifying the learning curve. Uranus here takes a second look at its arsenal available for leveling up, while Saturn-Neptune provides faith and invisible stability to pivot. Overall, stay in it to win it.

The cardinal full moon in Cancer is full of feeling. It can mirror or envelope easily, but it is not in sole control at the moment. I have a good quote for this, but it’s a bit dire sounding for the general condition, though it does apply for many. In A Grief Observed, C.S. Lewis said: “It doesn’t really matter whether you grip the arms of the dentist’s chair or let your hands lie in your lap. The drill drills on.” What the grieving don’t feel in the moment is that the drilling will end, and you’ll emerge with a benefit. What most can benefit from here is the understanding that the emotions are temporary and our actions and how we respond to those feelings builds blessings over time. That is where personal control lies.

Our emotions are and must be an inextricable part of this learning and building process. Jupiter in Cancer is a force multiplier for emotional intelligence. We’re called to level up. This is a no energy wasted call to action. Grip the arms or let you hands lie quiet; let go of your need to control what holds you back — if it keeps you from moving forward toward what’s good for you.

Can you relax? What if staying tense and on guard isn’t keeping you safe and just extending the time when you feel unsafe?

While Mercury is in Capricorn and part of this gorgeous stellium opposite the Moon and Jupiter, there’s no better time to begin to catalogue your understanding of what you’re actually feeling in any given moment. How does that correlate to what you’re seeking and how you’re seeking it?

In particular, note how you’re feeling Friday night and Saturday morning. What is it in response to? Can you identify a connection, or is there a lack of connection? Oppositions often revolve around interconnection and give and take, so this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. How are you feeling about your relationships? Can you relax your control, or is there limiting tension (or limiting beliefs)?

These emotional events raise questions we can benefit from acting on.

Saturday night, the Cancer Moon conjoins Jupiter, squares retro Chiron, then trines Saturn and Neptune and sextiles retro Uranus through morning. The active phase of the full moon is past, but the lessons get louder. Ride out the aftershocks with the wisdom and understanding that cooperation, change, and flow are easier and more revolutionary than clinging to the old ways when they no longer work.

Sunday morning, the Moon finishes up in Cancer and moves to Leo where it opposes Pluto in Aquarius. If you’re seeing the enemy everywhere, consider the possibility that you’re your own worst enemy. Upgrade your experience by trusting yourself. Trusting yourself to want the right things and chase the right desires. Then that opposition is empowering. If you trust yourself, you can relax enough to enjoy and co-create with the unexpected transformations you’re offered.

The full moon takes place early Saturday at 13 degrees Cancer. Where does this hit your chart? Do you have any weekend plans? Are you aware of how you’re feeling, and can you identify it?

I’m always on the lookout for good emotion wheel charting apps ever since my favorite went away. I found one today that’s excellent. It’s called Emotional Feeling and it doesn’t collect data. It’s only available on Apple devices, but I’m sure there are others that are at least nearly as good.
