See 14 Behind-the-Scenes Photos from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Set in Honor of the Show's 29th Anniversary
To mark Buffy's 21st anniversary — which coincided with International Women's Day — Gellar posted a few never-before-seen BTS pictures...
...swordfighting with her love interest Angel (played by David Boreanaz)...
...and hunting down a vampire.
Also celebrating Buffy's 21st anniversary, Charisma Carpenter honored the cast with a group photo from "early on."
"I am so thankful to our fans for still showing us love," the actress, who played Cordelia Chase, wrote under the picture. "You guys support us in our roles post Buffy and in all our personal endeavors."
Carpenter called series regular Nicholas Brendon "one of my favorite people to work with" in an old snap of "between scenes shenanigans."
Gellar, Seth Green and Alyson Hannigan were all smiles in their best prom attire for the show's season 3 episode "The Prom."
Stunt coordinator Sophia Crawford had plenty of "Buffy memories" with Seth Green (as Oz, in werewolf form) and his stunt double Lee Whitaker.
Trachtenberg, who portrayed Buffy's sister Dawn, shared a throwback Polaroid with Marc Blucas circa 2001.
In 2023, Carpenter posted a fun throwback with Green during some downtime on set (though she did apologize for the eyebrow-raising photobomb in the back).
Hannigan unearthed a few Polaroids from storage, including one with Emma Caulfield and James C. Leary in costume, to post on X.
"We had lots [of good days]!" wrote Hannigan in response to Caulfield.
Celebrating 25 years since the introduction of Buffy Anne Summers, Gellar reflected on the "uphill battle" to make the show a success.
"Then there was you. The fans. You believed in us. You made this happen," she wrote. "You are the reason 25 years later we are still celebrating. So today we celebrate you as well."
Boreanaz had Buffy fans sweating more than two decades later when he posted a steamy shirtless shot from set.
In memory of Trachtenberg, one year after her death, Gellar shared a sweet photo of the two on set and reminisced on their "30 years of memories."
Gellar wrote, "When I think of you, that smile that took up your entire face and brought so much joy to others is what comes to mind. You may not have been with us long enough, but we will make sure everyone remembers."
